God tells Isaiah and us (in Isaiah 9:6) that a Son would be born who’s name would be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. In which case if God tells us that Jesus was God in the flesh, and that there are other scripture to support this, then this is settled, and is not a matter of the opinion of anyone out side of the Scriptures.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17
Since the Scriptures in more than one place tells us that we are made righteous and justified by faith in Jesus Christ then that settles it, our righteousness comes by way of Gods grace towards us through our faith in Christ. And hence this also is not a matter of any source outside of the Bible, and is not a matter of anyone’s opinion.
“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”Romans 3:21-28
Here we have the Law Of Faith, and likewise in the New Covenant we have the Law Of Love, these are the laws and commandments of the New Covenant.
Here now, as seen above in Romans 3, God justifies those who believe in Jesus. And hence that settles it, especially since Jesus tells us in John 3:16 that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life, where our salvation does not come through praying a pray but through believing in Jesus. And hence this is not subject to the comments of sources outside of the Bible, and hence is not a matter of anyone’s opinion.
Now it seems that people expect that our faith is subject to the opinions they make in the comments. This is not true. Also, instead of reading and hearing the truth, they want to dissect everything and act as if the word of God is of debate? When the word is of no debate.
I am surprised at how strongly people hold their position and can not see and hear those scriptures that counter their opinions and views. Somehow those things just go right over their heads. I wish it were possible that all could see and hear the word, but most of the time what they see and hear is selective and the rest of the matter is filtered out.
Also it would be nice for people to do a complete study of the New Testament, and if they have been back in the Old Testament too long it is time to come back to the New and be revived. It is time to come back up out of backsliding into the old religion and come back to the New Covenant and re-read the provisions of the New Covenant of Faith.
In re-reading the New Testament we should never be surprised that we find that we have picked up religion instead of truth, when we lean to the teachings of this world today. We should never be surprised to find that the word of God corrects us. We can realize that somewhere we allowed someone to bait us and switch the word of God with man made doctrine.
